Position: Lead-Linux Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage advanced network security and infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern Linux-based networking and security tools, including NixOS, Cilium, Suricata, nftables, and Zeek.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with modern Linux-based systems, especially NixOS, for infrastructure automation and management
  •  Deploy and manage Cilium for container networking and security (Kubernetes environments)
  • Implement and maintain network security monitoring tools such as Suricata and Zeek
  • Configure and optimize nftables for firewalling, traffic filtering, and network control
  • Analyze network traffic, detect threats, and respond to security incidents
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, and Security teams for secure architecture design
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement in network performance, security posture, and automation

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in Linux Firewall and relevant Technologies
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Automation of tasks
    • Building intelligence into existing systems and processes
    • Collecting data from a wide array of sources to gain intelligence of infrastructure
  • Experience with network security and monitoring tools:
    • Suricata (IDS/IPS)
    •  Zeek (network traffic analysis)
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
    • Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems
    • Container networking and Kubernetes environments
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex network and security issues

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools
  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices
  • Relevant certifications in networking or security
